Application Form Yellow Cab Taxi Punjab Rozghar Scheme

LAHORE The Punjab cabinet on Thursday formally approved Yellow Cab Scheme and the draft bill for amendment in Section 17(4) of Government Servants Housing Foundation Act, 2004.
As per the approval of the Scheme, 20,000 vehicles will be distributed. 40 per cent quota has been allocated for South Punjab compared to its 31 per cent population. It has been observed that like other projects of the provincial government, the Scheme will also be unique with regard to transparency and computerised balloting for the distribution of vehicles will be held at divisional level in the presence of electronic media.
The cabinet also granted approval to the draft bill for amendment in Section 17(4) of Government Servants Housing Foundation Act, 2004. The sections states, All payments made by a member shall be updated annually at the rate of mark up, as may be determined by the Board from time to time.
Under the Scheme, 2500 vehicles will be distributed among the winners of the draw every month and the process of distribution of 20,000 vehicles will be completed in eight months.
Persons having intermediate or equivalent academic qualification will be eligible to apply. The application forms will be available from all branches of Bank of Punjab and the website of the Transport Department and of the Bank. The successful applicants will have to make 20 per cent down payment at the time of delivery and the remaining amount in easy monthly instalments. Loan facility at extremely low mark-up will also be offered from Bank of Punjab.
Advertisement will be published on July 15 regarding details of Yellow Cab Scheme after which the process of receipt of applications will be started. Committees, will also include Akhuwat representatives and students, will be formed for the scrutiny of the particulars of successful applicants, while Patwaris and Tehsildars will have nothing to do with the verification process.

When you dont have the money, investment, resources, power, gas, and other vistas to open up industries and to initiate businesses and to bring in more foreign entrepreneurs, then perhaps the yellow cab scheme is the good option to provide a source of income for the young generation of Pakistan.

Its realistic to believe that the security situation, corruption, red tape and nepotism makes Pakistan worst place for the business and investment. In that situation, providing such a scheme is a good step and it should be appreciated. But as it goes, nothing is easy in Pakistan and criticism is the most easiest thing.

Yellow cabs would be given to graduates less than of 35 years of age. The method would be transparent and through the ballot system. There is quota for them on the population basis in all the areas of the Punjab province. One hopes that it goes well and provides some relief to educated and jobless youth of Punjab.

date extended in Punjab Yellow Cabs Scheme Application Forms

LAHORE: The Punjab government has decided to extend the last date to apply for the Yellow Cabs Scheme for another 15 days because of the poor response the scheme has received from the public, sources told The News.
The sources said a number of major issues about the scheme were still undecided as it was launched half cooked owing to some political pressures. They termed it one reason why the scheme had failed to attract the applicants from the masses.
According to the sources, nearly 2,000 applications had so far been received by the Bank of Punjab against a total number of 20,000 vehicles allocated under the schemes.
The 20 percent down payment -- which is about Rs 100,000 as the first installment is also a huge amount for a jobless person to arrange. While compulsory tracking, insurance of vehicle and driver increase add about Rs 100,000 to the original company price.
One of the complaints received by the government is that the application form is too complicated to fill by a person with average education.
Apart from that, the form also carries a number of conditions which people find hard to fulfill such as possession of one-year-old driving licence, two guarantors with a long list of their particulars like bank account, CNIC, details of their assets and other documents which should be attested by a gazetted officer, etc.
Interestingly, the Bank of Punjab officials are not providing any guidance or help to the applicants in filling the application form, which is becoming one of the major problems for the applicants, the sources said.
One of the key decisions still required to be taken is about the ownership of the vehicles. It is still to be decided who, the Punjab government or the Bank of Punjab, should claim the ownership of the vehicles. According to the sources, the indecision in this regard is making the BoP officials give a cold shoulder to the Yellow Cab Scheme.
The government has allocated an amount of eight billion rupees for the scheme, making it a potential claimer of the ownership of the vehicles. The application forms contain a number of questions people find very difficult to answer.
For example, the applicant is asked to mention the route of their operation inside the given town or city, which is something very difficult to be answered by a cab driver. When contacted, Yellow Cab Scheme head MPA Sheikh Aloadin told The News that the conditions were likely to be relaxed and the chief minister had been informed about difficulties facing the applicants.
